Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – realme has officially confirmed that its next flagship, the realme GT 8 Pro, will be launched in Malaysia, making it one of the first devices in the country to be powered by Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
Qualcomm’s Most Advanced Mobile Chipset
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is built on TSMC’s 3nm N3p process and features a new 2+6 octa-core CPU architecture with clock speeds of up to 4.61 GHz. Qualcomm describes the chipset as its most powerful and efficient to date, designed to deliver faster performance while consuming less energy.

Early benchmarks back this up: the GT 8 Pro reportedly scored over 4 million points on AnTuTu, cementing its position among the most powerful Android smartphones currently available.
AI-Driven Gaming and Performance Enhancements
realme is pairing Qualcomm’s flagship processor with its Hyper Vision+ AI Chip and GT BOOST 3.0 energy scheduling system. This combination promises smoother multitasking and gaming experiences. According to the company, the GT 8 Pro can simultaneously run demanding titles such as PUBG and Genshin Impact at high frame rates for up to an hour—an impressive feat for mobile hardware.
Display, Camera, and Design Teasers
Although full specifications remain under wraps, realme Vice President Chase Xu has shared several teasers on Weibo. These confirm that the GT 8 Pro will feature a 2K resolution display and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera—a first for the GT series. Xu also hinted at a bold new design, showcasing what appears to be a redesigned camera module.
Expected Launch Timeline
Following its China debut next month, the realme GT 8 Pro is expected to arrive in Malaysia shortly after. Pricing and availability details will be announced closer to launch. If history is any indication—last year’s GT 7 Pro was the first in Malaysia with Snapdragon 8 Elite—the GT 8 Pro is poised to repeat that milestone.
