POCO is gearing up to introduce its next-generation flagship smartphone, which will feature Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. While the brand has not officially confirmed the model name, industry speculation points toward the upcoming device being the POCO F8 Ultra, succeeding last year’s F7 Ultra.
The move comes shortly after Qualcomm unveiled its most powerful mobile platform yet, designed to deliver significant upgrades in performance, efficiency, and AI-driven capabilities. POCO is expected to refine the design and introduce updated features with this release, further strengthening its position in the premium smartphone segment.
POCO will be among the first smartphone makers to adopt the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, alongside Realme and Xiaomi. Realme has already confirmed that its GT 8 Pro, launching in October, will feature the new processor. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is debuting the Xiaomi 17 series today in China, also powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chip.

Given POCO’s track record of delivering flagship-level performance at competitive prices, the upcoming device is expected to attract attention from power users and mobile gaming enthusiasts. With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at its core, the smartphone will likely offer enhanced multitasking, improved thermal management, and cutting-edge AI features tailored for both productivity and entertainment.
Although an official launch date has not been announced, more details about the POCO F8 Ultra are expected in the coming weeks.
