Nothing has unveiled its latest flagship earbuds, the Ear (3), introducing a refreshed design with metal accents, powerful noise-cancelling features, and a new Super Mic system for crystal-clear calls.

A Familiar Look, Now With Metal Accents

Staying true to its signature transparent design, Nothing has refined the Ear (3) with polished metal elements for the first time. The earbuds also integrate a custom Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) antenna, boosting connectivity and signal stability.

The charging case takes sustainability further, built from 100% recycled aluminum. Thanks to nano injection molding, the case achieves a seamless unibody design without glue, making it both compact and eco-friendly. Both the earbuds and the case come with an IP54 rating, providing resistance against dust, sweat, and splashes.

Super Mic for Clearer Calls

The standout new feature is Super Mic, a dual-microphone system built directly into the charging case. Activated by pressing the TALK button, it filters out noise up to 95 dB for crystal-clear calls, even in busy environments.

Each earbud adds three directional microphones and a bone-conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU) that detects micro-vibrations in the jaw and ear canal, enhancing voice accuracy. Together with AI-driven environmental noise cancellation, the Ear (3) delivers improved call clarity and wind noise reduction of up to 25 dB.

Users can also record voice notes through the case, which sync to Essential Space and are automatically transcribed when paired with a Nothing Phone.

Upgraded Audio and Battery Performance

For sound, the Ear (3) includes upgraded 12mm dynamic drivers with a 20% larger radiating area than its predecessor. This translates to deeper bass (+4–6 dB) and brighter treble (+4 dB).

Battery life has also been extended: each earbud carries a 55mAh cell, offering up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge. With the charging case, total listening time reaches 38 hours. A 10-minute USB-C quick charge provides up to 10 hours of playback, and wireless charging is supported.

The earbuds run on Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC codec support, offering high-quality wireless audio. Low-latency mode reduces lag to under 120ms, making them suitable for gaming and video streaming. They also support Google Fast Pair, iOS devices, and Windows PCs via the Nothing X app, which allows personalized controls.

Price and Availability

The Nothing Ear (3) is priced at $179 and comes in black and white finishes. Pre-orders began on September 18 at nothing.tech, with official store availability rolling out in select regions from September 25.
