Samsung has officially started expanding its One UI 8 update worldwide, bringing Android 16-based enhancements to the Galaxy S25 lineup. While users in Europe and other regions are already receiving the update, U.S. customers will have to wait a little longer.

One UI 8 Expands Beyond South Korea

After debuting in South Korea, Samsung’s One UI 8 is now reaching Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge devices across multiple regions. Early reports confirm availability in France, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and parts of the Caucasus. Other key markets including India, Brazil, and Australia are expected to follow within days.

The rollout closely matches a schedule leaked earlier this week in Brazil, suggesting Samsung is on track to deliver updates to more devices by the end of September.

U.S. Users Still Waiting

While international users are celebrating, Samsung customers in the U.S. may need more patience. Carriers have historically been slow to approve major Android updates, and early indications suggest that American Galaxy S25 owners could face delays ranging from a few days to several weeks.

What Comes Next

If Samsung maintains its pace, the Galaxy S24 series and foldable devices could be next in line. Reports point to the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 receiving the update by September 25 in several regions.

The rollout is expected to accelerate further in October, reaching the Galaxy S23 lineup, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, S22 family, older foldables, and even mid-range devices like the Galaxy A55, A35, and A26. Samsung also plans to extend support to tablets and entry-level models such as the Galaxy Tab S8 and A06.

Should You Upgrade?

One UI 8 is not a complete redesign but brings refined performance, smoother navigation, and useful new features. While no major issues have been reported yet, experts recommend waiting for early user feedback before installing the update, particularly given Samsung’s uneven history with previous rollouts.

For most Galaxy S25 owners, upgrading from One UI 7 to One UI 8 should deliver a noticeably improved experience once the update is confirmed stable.
